Teradata video & motion

Bringing Teradata’s mission to life through compelling storytelling, animation, guidelines, and toolkits.
Challenge
Teradata’s video output had grown rapidly, but without a unified strategy. Brand films, product videos, social content, event motion, and explainers were being produced in isolation — by different teams, regions, and agencies — with inconsistent quality, style, and messaging. There was no shared motion language, no narrative framework, and no efficient production model. As a result, video was slow to produce, expensive to scale, and often failed to clearly communicate Teradata’s AI and cloud story. The challenge was not just to make better videos — but to build a cohesive, scalable brand video system that could support marketing, product, demand, events, and internal communications worldwide.
Solution

As Global Creative Director, I built and led Teradata’s global brand video and motion strategy — defining the creative vision, establishing the system, and staying hands-on across concept, craft, and execution.

Working across in-house teams, global agencies, and production partners, I created a unified video ecosystem that aligned storytelling, motion design, and production workflows under a single brand framework.

  • Brand Narrative & Flagship Content: Led creative strategy for Teradata’s cornerstone brand content, including the award-winning brand film The Journey Home — three Telly Awards and a benchmark for everything that followed. [See the full case study →]
  • Global Motion System: Defined Teradata’s motion principles and visual language — covering pacing, transitions, data behavior, and AI-inspired interactions — creating a cohesive feel across every format and channel.
  • Scalable Video Ecosystem: Directed creative across brand films, product explainers, campaign video, social, and event motion, ensuring clarity and consistency at scale.
  • Production Model & Playbooks: Built a global operating model aligning in-house teams, agencies, and partners around shared standards and workflows — reducing dependence on external production without sacrificing quality.
  • Video and Motion Guidelines & Toolkits: Created reusable motion systems and templates that gave global teams everything they needed to produce on-brand content faster and at lower cost.
Impact

Building the system paid off — in speed, cost, and creative consistency across a global organization.

  • 80+ brand, product, and campaign videos produced across global teams.
  • Production timelines cut by ~60%, reducing typical cycles from 6–8 weeks to 2–3 weeks.
  • 35% reduction in external production costs through modular systems and internal enablement.
  • Social video engagement grew 16% quarter-over-quarter, making video a primary performance driver across channels.
